USA-based Bharatanatyam dancer Bala Devi Chandrashekar is presenting a new production this Season at a few venues.

The solo themed concert is titled ‘Mauli – A Timeless Tradition’.

Bala says this work is a deeply researched Bharatanatyam work that journeys along the sacred Pandharpur Wari, where devotion becomes movement.

Through disciplined choreography and layered abhinaya, the philosophy of Varkari bhakti is rendered visible on stage.

History, spirituality, and lived faith converge as the figure of Panduranga emerges through the collective voice of the Maulis, says the dancer.

Rooted in scholarship yet resonant for the present, Mauli affirms equality, surrender, and the enduring power of devotion, she adds.

Bala is presenting four concerts this season starting with a Dec.25, 7.30 p.m. concert at the TAG hall at P S High School, Mylapore, for Brahma Gana Sabha. The other concerts are on Dec. 27, Jan.4 and Jan.9 at various venues in Mylapore.
