This little event had a charm of its own. A Season opener it was.

The  21st edition of Parallel Music Festival – an annual event of Rotary Club of Madras Coromandel was held on December 3 p.m. onwards at the Kasturi Srinivasan Hall of The Music Academy, Chennai coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

N Murali, President of the Music Academy was the chief guest.

Though it was not a packed house, those present recognised the import of this event – to recognise less abled artistes who have made a name.

The Life Time Achievement Award for 2025 was conferred on violin vidwan T K Padmanabhan, a senior artiste who honed his skills in Kalakshetra.

Distinguished Musician Award 2025 was conferred on vidwan S. Srinivasan, veena exponent & vocalist.

Promising Musician award 2025 was conferred on vidwan Thirumurugan, morsing & mridangam artiste.

The Promising Musician Awards was conferred on Vaikom Vijayalakshmi and on Dr. K T Uday Kiran from Mysore.
