The first houseful concert of the December Season 2025. It featured vocalist Abhishek Raghuram.  On November 26, Wednesday, at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore at its annual margazhi mahotsav which is now going on at its main auditorium.

There must have been over 700 rasikas inside the hall and later, some 50 of them, late-comers, sat in the outer wing of the hall and watched the concert beamed on a large TV screen.

And most of the rasikas stayed on till the end – a shade after 9 p.m.

Abhishek was in his elements and he and his co artistes – Akkarai Sornalatha on violin, Vijay Natesan on mridangam and Krishna Sriram on the ghatam – received loud applause after every song.

Since this is the first festival of the Season in the city and many top-ranking artistes perform, rasikas attend in large numbers. The concerts are free.
