Dancer-teacher Sheela Unnikrishnan’s Chennai-based Sridevi Nrithyalaya is presenting its 19th dance drama production titled “Siva Nava Bhakthi” this December Season.

The first show of this production was presented in T. Nagar at the academy’s annual day.

The screenplay is by Shobha Korambil, the music by Embar Kannan, the lyrics by Dr S Raghuraman and the choreography by Sheela Unnikrishnan.

Sheela says that work on this production started a tad late by her standards and once the screenplay and the music by Embar Kannan was ready, preparations moved fast.

The dance productions of Sridevi Nrithyalaya have always made a mark on rasikas and some, like ‘ Srnivasa Kalyanam’ are asked to be staged by arts bodies across the country.

On Dec. 3, 6:30pm – the new dance drama will be staged at Narada Gana Sabha hall, Alwarpet, under the auspices of Karthik Fine Arts
