Food and sabha canteens are as much a part of the December Season chatter as are comments on concerts.

The menu at sabha canteens are getting mixed reactions too.

Families who do not attend concerts but sit at a table inside canteens are giving the thumbs up for the canteen at Music Academy.

Mount Batten’s canteen at Indian Fine Arts’ fest venue, a wedding hall on TTK Road, Alwarpet has also been getting very positive reviews with a big nod for its elai sappadu.

Arusuvai’s spread at the canteen for Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha at a hall in Bheemanna Sena Garden Street, Mylapore also gets a thumbs up; many loved the piping hot filter coffee here.

The canteen at Narada Gana Sabha has not got many favourable reviews. Puzzled waiters, delayed orders and standard food – such were the comments made by people who dined here – in the basement of the sabha’s building in Alwarpet.
In fact, many chose to snack at the Woodlands outlet here, which functions year-round.

Rasikas have been appreciative of the snacks that Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan provides during its festival concerts, early evening – samosa and a sweet one day, sevai on another. Free.

Sattva caterer’s fare at Vani Mahal and at Sri Krishna Gana Sabha has go.t positive reviews.
