The Rasika’s Chennai Season Handbook for the December Season was formally released at the launch of the festival of Brahma Gana Sabha and R R Sabha in Mylapore on Dec.11.

But only a limited number copies were shared that evening and we are told the copies will be available soon, free of cost at leading sabhas.

Funded by arts promoter Nalli Kuppuswamy, this pocket book which lists all the concerts (over 1,000!) of over 35 arts bodies/sabhas and is a ready reckoner for rasikas and artistes, it has been collated by a team led by artiste K. N. Shashikiran and his iCarnatic.org team.

This handbook has had many avatars since it was first brought out some two decades ago when the concerts were some 250 plus.

At one point, the late Kannan got involved with this project and did all the hard work and got Nalli as its publisher.

Later, the handbook had its hiccups as various people got associated with it.
