Kalavaahini and Malavika Sarukkai’s sixth edition of the Dance for Dance Festival is on December 19, 20th and 21 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore

The fest will showcase Sankhya Dance Company which premieres Viyoga – Fragments of Light. Commissioned by Malavika Sarukkai and Kalavaahini for its 10th year anniversary, it is choreographed by Vaibhav Arekar.

A note on this production shared by the host – Viyoga journeys through the fractures , tracing how our harmony with nature quietly fades, how the narcissistic self eclipses the deeper truth within, and how unbridled material desire overshadows the spiritual depth that sustains us. Through movement and stillness, the work reflects on these disconnections, urging us to pause, witness, and rediscover what binds us.

Later, featured at this fest are dancers Aswathi K, Christopher Gurusamy, Shijith N Parvathy and group, Divya Hoskere, Sooraj Nambiar, and Sharmila Biswas and ensemble.
