Some festivals run on funds from sponsors. Some are hosted by patrons. And some are supported by rasikas, this December Season.

Naada Inbam’s festival of music runs on the support from many a rasika who make a donation in the name of a family Trust or a deceased member of the family who loved Carnatic music passionately.

K. Jayalakshmi, daughter of late S. V. Krishnan (SVK to friends) who founded this sabha and built the hall that is located alongside Nageswara Rao Park in Luz, says that she does not go out of her way to appeal for funding or sponsorship.

“There are rasikas who volunteer to donate to our Trust,” said Vijayalakshmi. “That alone is not enough. We put in our funds and the festival runs!”.
