Chennai Photo Biennale (CPB) Edition 4 opens on December 20, with its thematic inquiry “Why Photograph?” This biennale brings together over 20 exhibitions and programs, featuring unique works that explore diverse narratives.
“Madras, Margazhi & Music” by Amar Ramesh is a nostalgic series that captures the essence of Chennai’s margazhi season. Through his evocative portraits, Amar Ramesh celebrates the city’s rich cultural heritage, offering viewers a unique lens into the traditional and modern facets of the Margazhi festivities.
States a note on this show ; Through this project, we bring together 50 well known Carnatic musicians, each captured at 50 iconic locations across Chennai, blending the rich history of the city with the musicians who continue to carry this legacy forward. This is our tribute to both the city and the extraordinary artists who are passing this heritage on to future generations.
