Sunaadalahari’s music season where concerts are set around a garden and a canopy, a sort of open-air chamber concert setting, launches on Nov.29.
This year, its evening ticketed concerts have been reimagined as ‘Pay As You Wish’ events, aimed at fundraising to support ‘தமிழர் ஆடற்கலை’ (Tamil folk performing arts).
The initiative highlights creating awareness on diverse forms of traditional Tamil art and to provide them a mainstream performance platform alongside Carnatic music.
In addition to concerts by renowned artists and insightful lec-dems, this season offers unique programs, including:
• Tarkka Paattu – தர்க்கப் பாட்டு: A witty theatrical discourse inspired by Tamil folk poetry.
• Folk Art Presentations: featuring Parai Aatan, Karagattam, Mayilattam, Oyilattam, and Poi Kal Kuthirai.
On stage are also talented youngsters from India and beyond, nurturing the Next Gen of performers.
Inauguration : 29th Nov. Concerts > 29th Nov to 9th Dec./ 26th to 31st Dec
