The December Season draws artistes and music/dance students from all over India and outside. Some even find a space to perform.
This Season, dancer and teacher Revathi Ramachandran former head of Kalakshetra, who runs her dance school in Abiramapuram, is presenting a group of music and dance students she has been working with for some time.
Revathi is director of the cultural wing of Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence in Karnataka.
The students hail from rural Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. These students attend the under-grad program of music / dance. A bunch of them are touring Chennai now.
The dancers will present a dance drama titled ‘Devi Mangalam ‘ on Dec.30 / 6 pm at Ethiraj Kalyana Mantapam, TTK Road, Alwarpet. On Dec.31, 7 pm, the dancers present ‘ Laya Nirupanam’ at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore.
Open to all.
Revathi says that these students are looking forward to the exposure on stage here and hopes rasikas will attend the shows to encourage them.
