Book on mridangam vidwan Palani Subramania Pillai to be released. Dec.21

The Sruti Foundation is launching a book titled ‘Dhruva Nakshatram’, authored by Lalitha Ram and translated by Prabha Sridevan. The book, a tribute to the legendary mridangam maestro Palani Subramania Pillai, highlights his exceptional contributions to Carnatic music and rhythmic traditions.

The event is on Dec. 21, Saturday, at 10 a.m. at the TAG Centre, TTK Road, Alwarpet. The launch will feature eminent personalities, including Prof. Trichy Sankaran and K. S. Kalidas.

A special Laya Vinyasam will be presented at 11 a.m. by renowned percussionists Praveen Sparsh (mridangam), Anirudh Athreya (kanjira), Chandrasekara Sharma (ghatam), and Adyar G. Silambarasan (tavil)
