Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai Kendra, will present its Margazhi festival of music and dance from November 22 onwards.
R. N. Ravi, governor of Tamil Nadu is the chief guest at the launch that evening.
Among the top artistes featured are Sudha Ragunathan, Vijay Siva, Abhishek Raghuram, Sandeep Narayanan, Lalgudi GJR Krishnan and Vijayalakshmi and A. Kanyakumari.
There will also be discourses by Dushyant Sridhar, Sivasriskanda Prasad and thematic presentations by Ghatam Karthik, Thiruvarur Bakthavathsalam, Subhasree Thanikachalam and Charulatha Mani.
This year the festival is presented in three segments – music concerts till Dec.12, the second music concerts segment from December 13 for 19 days. Then, is the dance festival from January 2.
All the programmes are non-ticketed and open to all.
